Edda — Book discovery, reimagined for authors & publishers

Where readers meet the people who write the books.

Edda began as a place to listen. Now it's where readers discover what to read next — through a trailer, the author's own voice, and a page that finally does the book justice.

The new shape of discovery

A great book no longer waits to be found on a shelf. It introduces itself — in motion, in a voice, in the words of the person who wrote it.

01

Discovery you can hear and feel

Every book on Edda gets a page that does it justice — a short trailer, a passage in the author's own voice, the feel of the story before page one. Readers don't scan covers. They step inside.

  • A short trailer for every title
  • An opening read by the author
  • The tone of the book, up front
An opening passage

The houses on the point were built from salt and stubbornness, and each winter the sea came to take one back. My grandmother counted them every morning the way other women counted prayers.

Meet the author, not just the book

Behind every story is a person. Edda puts them in the room — with notes on why they wrote it, what to read next, and a direct line between the reader who loved the book and the author who made it.

  • Author voice & story notes
  • Follow authors, not algorithms
  • Readers reach authors directly

One author · a whole readership

Readers don't just finish your book. They find you.

A reader can follow you, hear why you wrote it, and tell you what it meant — the thread that used to get lost somewhere between a shelf and a stranger.

“I finished The Salt Houses at two in the morning and wrote to the author the same night. She wrote back. I've read everything she's made since.”

Questions, answered.

Is Edda still an audiobook app?

Yes — listening is at Edda's heart. We've expanded so that the same reader who comes to listen now also discovers new books through trailers, author readings, and living book pages, and can connect with the authors behind them.

What does it cost an author to join?

Nothing to start. There are no setup fees and you keep your rights. We're inviting authors and publishers in waves during early access — request access and we'll be in touch.

Do I need to record my own audio?

You can read your own sample chapters for that personal connection, or use Edda's vetted narration. Either way, one upload becomes audio, text, and a trailer.

How do readers reach me?

Readers follow authors directly on Edda. They can message you and see your notes and recommendations — a real line between the people who love your work and you.

Can publishers onboard a full catalog?

Absolutely. We support bulk onboarding, branded publisher pages, and reader-level analytics across every title on your list, including backlist.
